The Future of Forestry Support from 2014

This is your chance to help shape the future of grant support for forestry in the next round of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).

At the request of Forestry Commission Scotland, ConFor is organising three regional meetings to allow everyone in the sector to discuss what support measures are required from 2014 on, and how they should be delivered. The meetings will begin at 7pm and last until 9pm, and are being held:

Tuesday 23rd March – Perth – Dewars Centre
Tuesday 30th March – Inverness – Drumossie Hotel
Thursday 1st April – Lockerbie – Dryfesdale hotel

Coffee/tea & biscuits will be available from 6.30pm.

The evenings will be framed round FCS’s discussion paper, attached or download at http://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/INFD-836DMA  and will cover the following:

Why should forestry be supported?
What activities should be supported, and what are the most deserving causes?
What are the best methods of delivering support? Standard costs, tendering, fixed area payments?
Is the existing delivery mechanism fit for purpose?
If not, how could it be improved upon?

Attendance is free, but please telephone or email to register which meeting you will be at (if you have not already done so), with:
